Southern Tennessee Surgical Services Reopens Pulaski Office with Experienced General Surgeon
PULASKI, Tenn. (August 5, 2026) – Southern Tennessee Regional Health System – Pulaski is pleased to announce the reopening of Southern Tennessee Surgical Services in Pulaski with the addition of Derrick B. Galapon, M.D., F.A.C.S., an experienced general surgeon who will begin seeing patients at the end of September.
Dr. Galapon brings decades of surgical experience to Pulaski, including extensive experience in general surgery, advanced laparoscopic procedures, endoscopy and wound care. He is accepting new adult and geriatric patients at Southern Tennessee Surgical Services, located at 1255 E. College St., Suite 400.

Dr. Galapon earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland, after earning a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from Vanderbilt University. He completed his general surgery internship and residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
His career includes more than 15 years of service in the United States Army, where he served in a variety of medical and surgical roles, including flight surgeon, staff general surgeon and chief of general surgery. Following his military service, Dr. Galapon continued practicing general surgery in Tennessee.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Galapon enjoys spending time outdoors, including hunting, fishing, hiking and kayaking, as well as traveling. He and his wife, Trish, also enjoy time with their dog, Bobo.
