STRHS Pulaski Celebrates Groundbreaking for New Emergency Department Expansion

PULASKI, Tenn. – Southern Tennessee Regional Health System – Pulaski (STRHS-Pulaski) recently celebrated the groundbreaking of its new Emergency Department expansion, marking the beginning of a $12 million investment that will strengthen emergency care for Giles County and the surrounding region for years to come.
Hospital leaders were joined by local elected officials, community leaders, first responders, physicians, employees, board members, Lifepoint Health representatives, healthcare partners, and community members to commemorate the milestone during a ceremonial groundbreaking at the hospital.
The project will relocate the Emergency Department to the front of the hospital and includes more than 10,600 square feet of new construction and renovation. Once complete, the expanded department will improve patient and staff flow, increase treatment capacity from seven to eleven patient rooms, add specialized trauma, bariatric, and observation rooms, and feature more than $1 million in upgraded medical equipment.
"As we celebrate 75 years of caring for our community, this Emergency Department expansion reflects our continued commitment to investing in the future of healthcare," said Jason Fugleberg, Chief Executive Officer of STRHS-Pulaski. "This project will allow us to better serve our patients, support our caregivers, and continue fulfilling our mission of making communities healthier for generations to come."
As the sole provider of emergency services in Giles County, STRHS-Pulaski treats more than 12,000 emergency patients annually and is an accredited Chest Pain Center. The expansion is designed to meet the community's growing healthcare needs while enhancing the patient experience and creating a more efficient environment for emergency care.
STRHS-Pulaski also recognized DPR Construction, the project's construction partner, for its role in bringing the vision to life. As construction manager, DPR Construction will oversee every phase of the project, working closely with hospital leadership to deliver a modern Emergency Department designed to serve the community for decades to come.
