June 03, 2026
Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Pulaski (STRHS-Pulaski) is pleased to invite community members, local leaders, first responders, and healthcare partners to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for its new Emergency Department expansion project on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at STRHS-Pulaski, 1265 East College Street, Pulaski, Tennessee.
The ceremony will mark the official start of construction on the hospital's $11 million Emergency Department renovation and expansion project, made possible through an investment from Lifepoint Health, the hospital's parent company.
The project represents one of the most significant investments in healthcare infrastructure in recent years for Giles County and reflects STRHS-Pulaski's ongoing commitment to improving access to high-quality care close to home.
"We are excited to celebrate this important milestone with our community," said Jason Fugleberg, Chief Executive Officer of STRHS-Pulaski. "This project demonstrates our commitment to making communities healthier by expanding access to emergency care and creating a modern environment that will better serve our patients, families, and caregivers for years to come."
The expansion will include the relocation of the Emergency Department to the front of the hospital, improved patient and staff flow, and a nearly doubled footprint with the addition of more than 4,600 square feet. The new design will increase capacity from seven to eleven patient beds and include observation and holding rooms, specialized trauma and bariatric rooms, and more than $1 million in upgraded medical equipment.
As the sole provider of emergency services in Giles County, STRHS-Pulaski treats more than 12,000 patients annually. The hospital is also an accredited Chest Pain Center, providing critical emergency and cardiac care for residents throughout the region.
"Our Emergency Department team provides exceptional care every day, often during some of the most critical moments in a patient's life," said Goran Antic, MD, Emergency Department Medical Director. "This expansion will help ensure we are prepared to meet the growing needs of our community while continuing to provide high-quality, compassionate care."
Community members are encouraged to attend the groundbreaking ceremony and join hospital leaders, physicians, staff, elected officials, and project partners as STRHS-Pulaski celebrates this exciting investment in the future of healthcare for Giles County.
The groundbreaking ceremony will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Pulaski, located at 1265 East College Street in Pulaski. The event is free and open to the public.
