Michelle Flowe Named as 2026 Mercy Award Recipient

May 26, 2026

PULASKI, Tenn. — Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Pulaski (STRHS Pulaski) is proud to announce Michelle Flowe, BSN, RN, Education Coordinator and Employee Health Nurse, as the hospital's 2026 Mercy Award recipient.

The Mercy Award is the highest honor a Lifepoint Health employee can receive and recognizes individuals who best exemplify the spirit and values upon which the company was founded. Named in memory of Lifepoint Health's founding Chairman and first CEO, Scott Mercy, the award honors employees who lead with compassion, servant leadership, and a deep commitment to caring for others.

Flowe was selected for her extraordinary dedication to staff education, patient safety, employee support, and community service. Throughout her time at STRHS Pulaski, she has consistently gone above and beyond to ensure employees feel prepared, supported, and equipped to provide high-quality patient care.

"Michelle exemplifies the culture of caring we strive to create at STRHS Pulaski," said Jason Fugleberg, chief executive officer of Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Pulaski. "She leads with humility, compassion, and excellence in everything she does. Her impact is felt not only throughout our hospital, but throughout our community as well."

As Education Coordinator, Flowe has played a key role in strengthening emergency preparedness and staff training initiatives across the hospital. She has coordinated educational opportunities through partnerships with local organizations, EMS agencies, Air Evac, and larger healthcare systems, including Vanderbilt. Following the pause of obstetrical services at STRHS Pulaski, she worked proactively to ensure frontline caregivers maintained the training and preparedness necessary to respond appropriately to obstetrical emergencies.

Flowe also recently coordinated what was likely the best-attended employee education fair in hospital history. Through a creative and engaging theme, she helped transform employee education into an interactive experience that encouraged participation and collaboration across departments.

In addition to her professional contributions, Flowe is known for her servant-hearted commitment to the community.

Alongside her family, Michelle coordinated fundraising and outreach efforts supporting individuals and families facing significant medical hardships. Their efforts have provided thousands of dollars to patients in need.

Each facility winner, including Michelle, will be considered for Lifepoint's 2026 companywide Mercy Award. The companywide winner will be announced this summer and honored during a ceremony in Nashville, Tenn., in September.
