A message from CEO Jason Fugleberg

November 06, 2025

Dear Pulaski patients and community members -

I want to share some changes our hospital plans to make related to labor and delivery services in the weeks ahead. Following the departure of our last full-time obstetrician this summer and ongoing recruitment and staffing challenges, we have begun exploring new ways to care for expectant families in our community.

While we consider new models of care and opportunities to expand services in our region, we are making plans to pause labor and delivery services at our facility and transition these services to our sister hospital STRHS – Lawrenceburg effective December 11.

We are committed to making this transition as seamless as possible for impacted patients and their families. Labor and delivery services will be the only service impacted by this change, and we will continue to provide access to prenatal and postnatal care at our Pulaski clinics. We will also continue to offer a range of women’s and children’s services including primary care, pediatrics and well women care as well as our specialized services in breast imaging and mammography, pelvic floor rehabilitation and pediatric occupational, physical and speech therapy.

Ensuring that people in Giles County and the surrounding region have access to the quality healthcare services they need close to home is very important to us. As part of that, we continue to recruit and welcome new providers to our team, have recently invested in new state-of-the-art imaging and surgical equipment to enhance our services, and look forward to starting construction on a new, expanded emergency department next year.

STRHS-Pulaski remains focused on making communities healthier and growing our services to meet the changing needs of our community. We will keep you apprised of our progress and appreciate your continued support for your hometown hospital.

Sincerely,

Jason Fugleberg MBA, RN, CPPS, CENP, FACHE
