September 22, 2025
PULASKI, TN– Southern Tennessee Regional Health System (STRHS) Pulaski is proud to announce that it has received the Tennessee Hospital Association’s (THA) 2024 Zero Harm Award for the second year in a row, recognizing the hospital’s success in eliminating healthcare-associated infections in three key categories: Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections (CAUTI), Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infections (CLABSI), and Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) bacteremia.
Presented by the Tennessee Center for Patient Safety (TCPS), the Zero Harm Award celebrates hospitals and clinical departments that achieve a full calendar year with zero infections in one or more categories. This recognition spotlights hospitals that eliminate preventable harm, save patient lives, and reduce unnecessary healthcare costs.
“Earning the Zero Harm Award two years in a row is an incredible achievement,” said Jason Fugleberg, STRHS Pulaski CEO. “It reflects the dedication of our physicians, nurses, and staff, who work tirelessly to provide safe, high-quality care for every patient, every day.”
Tammy Van Dyk, Senior Vice President at THA’s Tennessee Center for Patient Safety, added, “The Zero Harm Awards celebrate hospitals that demonstrate what is possible when teams work together with a relentless focus on patient safety. These achievements directly benefit patients, families, and communities across Tennessee.”
The Zero Harm Awards are presented annually by THA’s Tennessee Center for Patient Safety to honor hospitals that go extended periods without healthcare-associated infections. The full list of recipients is available here.
STRHS Pulaski remains committed to advancing a culture of safety and achieving the highest standards of care for its community.
