Pulaski, Tenn. – Southern Tennessee Regional Health System–Pulaski is pleased to announce that Messina Barnett, MSN, FNP, has joined the team at Southern Tennessee Orthopedics and will begin seeing patients on September 21, 2025. Barnett will provide comprehensive orthopedic care to patients across the region, expanding access to high-quality, patient-centered services close to home.

“We are excited to welcome Messina to our orthopedic team,” said Jason Fugleberg, CEO of STRHS–Pulaski. “Her broad clinical background, particularly her experience in emergency medicine, surgical care, and chronic condition management, equips her to serve a diverse patient population with both skill and compassion. She is also deeply rooted in this community, which makes her addition to our team even more meaningful.”

Barnett earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of North Alabama and is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She brings experience across a wide range of clinical settings—including emergency departments, long-term care facilities, surgical services, and home health—often serving rural and medically underserved communities. In the Orthopedic clinic, Messina will specialize in arthritis management, sports injuries, joint injections, pediatric orthopedics, and non-surgical joint support. 

Messina is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), the Tennessee Nurses Association (TNA), and the American Nurses Association (ANA). She is passionate about patient education, preventive health, and empowering patients to be active participants in their care.

Barnett is now accepting new patients, including adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. She will practice at Southern Tennessee Orthopedics, located at 200 Hillside Road, Pulaski, TN 38478.
