STRHS 2025 Mercy Award Winner: Jessica Barrow

PULASKI, TN (June 4, 2025) – Southern Tennessee Regional Health System Pulaski recently announced that Jessica Barrow has been recognized as the facility’s 2025 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of Lifepoint Health’s facilities who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.

Established in 2001, the Mercy Award is an annual recognition program that honors the life and contributions of Scott Mercy, Lifepoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer. The award is considered the highest honor a Lifepoint employee can receive.

“At STRHS Pulaski, our caring and compassionate team members are at the heart of advancing our mission of making communities healthier – and Jessica Barrow is a shining example of this day in and day out,” said Jason Fugleberg, CEO of STRHS Pulaski. “We are so proud to recognize her many contributions to caring for patients, supporting our hospital, and serving our community. I’m grateful for Jessica’s positive influence and the example she sets for all of us.”

Jessica serves as the Clinical Nurse Coordinator for MedSurg and ICU. She is known not only for her exceptional leadership and clinical skill, but for her deep empathy and willingness to go above and beyond in service to others. From spending hours gently untangling a patient’s hair to preserve their dignity, to purchasing a back scratcher or stuffed animal for a patient in need of comfort, Jessica brings kindness and intention to every action she takes.

Outside the hospital, Jessica is just as active. She leads youth programs at her church and serves on the board of a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and teens. She also supports local teachers and students through volunteer work at Elkton School and is a reliable presence at church events, fundraisers, and community outreach efforts. Her commitment to making a difference touches every corner of Giles County.

Each facility winner, including Jessica, will be considered for Lifepoint’s 2025 companywide Mercy Award. The companywide winner will be announced this summer and honored during a ceremony in Nashville, Tenn., in August.
