Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System’s experience in MRI is unsurpassed with over 70 years combined radiology experience, with sub-specialties in sports medicine imaging, body and neuro-radiology. STRHS promises to continue our leadership role in MRI and medical imaging by bringing our southern middle Tennessee patients the latest MRI techniques as they become available.

MRI is also growing in importance in evaluating vascular disease and is recognized as the single best method for evaluation of the brain and spinal cord. MRI is especially useful in the evaluation of all sports medicine and joint imaging:

  • Knees
  • Shoulders
  • Ankles
  • Spine
  • Advanced Body Imaging
  • MRCP
  • Our scanner meets both physician and patient needs:
  • High-field Strength MRI (GE 1.5T)
  • High-speed MR imaging
  • Wide bore tunnel (accommodates body weight of 500 lbs.)

Conscious sedation is available if necessary (physician order required).
