iIn Pulaski, we offer multiple types of cardiac stress testing. There is regular stress testing with a treadmill only. This involves stimulating the patient, via a treadmill, to measure the heart’s ability to respond to stress in a controlled environment.
We also provide nuclear medicine stress imaging where your heart will be exercised either by walking on a treadmill or through the help of medication. Along with the exercise the blood flow to the heart muscle is imaged with a Nuclear Medicine camera after a small amount of radiation is given. Lastly we offer Ultrasound stress Echoes. Much like the Nuclear Medicine stress tests, the heart is exercised by walking on a treadmill or through the help of medication. The function of the heart is then imaged with an ultrasound machine. No radiation is used at any point during this exam.
