Local Health System Announces Addition of National Grief Recovery Program
November 15, 2017
In its continuing effort to reach out with compassion to our community, Southern Tennessee Regional Health System officials will be offering their facility to host a nationally recognized grief recovery outreach program. This program falls under the umbrella of their newly founded effort “Caring and Sharing” whose goal is to offer help and support to those who have suffered or anticipating the loss of a loved one
Harolene Johnston, a certified grief recovery specialist will facilitate the seven week program. It begins Wednesday, November 8th, from 6:30pm-8pm. The class will meet in the hospital board room. The Grief Recovery Method Outreach Program provides the necessary steps needed to helps people move beyond the pain caused by loss. These losses include but are not limited to, death, divorce, loss of health or finances and loss of trust, just to name a few. It is a program which creates a safe environment in which to look at old beliefs about dealing with loss; to look at what losses have affected your life; and to take new actions which enables grievers to say good-bye to the pain attached to those losses.
There are a limited number of spaces for the program. It is not an occasional, drop-in group. For the success of the program, commitment by participants to attend all the classes is essential.
